Thomas asks…
Which birthstone do you think is the most valuable?
January – Garnet
February – Amethyst
March – Aquamarine
April – Diamond
May – Emerald
June – Moonstone
July – Ruby
August – Peridot
September – Sapphire
November – Opal
December – Citrine
Just out of curiosity, does anyone know which one is said to be the rarest/most valuable? Thanks!! =)
(Oh and just for the record my birthstone is Sapphire)
Oh I’m sorry October people! lol
October – Opal
Yeah there are a couple of different birthstones for some months. But I just listed one for each.
crystal power answers:
Diamonds are meted out in limited numbers to ensure their value, but they are all over the place…more common a stone than you realize
most rubies are actually synthetic, as finding a true ruby is near impossible…so actually this stone is by far a rarer one today

Richard asks…
Ladies, what do you think about pearls?
I’m thinking about getting my girlfriend pearls for valentine’s day. preferably a set: necklace, earrings, bracelet. but i haven’t made up my mind yet. i think she likes pearls, but i asked her about a month ago and she somehow knew i was considering getting her some for v-day so she just said she didn’t want me to spend too much money on her. she’s a farm girl, and she doesn’t have much jewelry. what she has is what i bought for her, and she wears it all the time. she doesn’t dress up much, just for Sunday church and stuff, but i’d like her to have several jewelry options when she does. also, i heard pearl is june‘s birthstone, and she was born in june. i’m also planning on getting her some chocolates, roses, and a stuffed animal because that is all she asked for.
My only concern about pearls is that i heard some girls talking somehow, i don’t remember if it was real life or a tv show, and they said pearls are for old people. is this true or do young women like pearls too?
thanks in advance for your answers. i REALLY appreciate it.
We’re both just under 20, money is not an issue, and i’ve already got her some diamonds so i was looking for something different
crystal power answers:
PEARLS ARE PERFECT, especially if she is a farm girl. I would suggest earrings. They dont stand out too much so you can wear them around with any outfit. Get a set with a bunch of different colors for her different outfits. If you get her a necklace or bracelet then she can only wear them when she goes to church and stuff. Plus, they aren’t for old people. That’s a lie. Me and My friends have tons of pearls. They are lots cheaper than diamonds but just as pretty and romantic.

Tattoo Idea for Second Child?
I recently had my second child, and want to get a tattoo in honor of her. I got a tattoo for my son who is now two years old, and want to follow the same kind of style in choosing a tat for my daughter. I am very into mythology, and my son’s name is Dylan. Dylan is the Norse god of the sea, and there is a beautiful story tied into it. His name also means “of the sea,” so I got a tidal wave tattooed on my left shoulder that says Of the Sea and his birthdate right beneath the crest of the wave.
I wanted to follow the same type of idea/theme for my daughter, who’s name is Molly. There is no connection to Mythology and her name that I have been able to find, but she was born in June, and her birthstone is a pearl. The myth behind that is that Aphrodite (the goddess of June) created pearls when she was born out of the ocean. She cried tears of joy, and her tears sank to the bottom of the sea, were swallowed by clams, and turned to pearls. I like that both of my kids have ties to the sea, but I am having trouble coming up with something creative to get tattooed based upon this myth. Her name means “sea of bitterness”, so I don’t really want that tattooed, and I don’t care for name tattoos. Any good suggestions? Thanks!
