Can you tell me anything about blue topaz?
Can you tell me anything about blue topaz? I have to do a school project about it and i can only find stuff on regular topaz. This project has to be on lue topaz and only blue topaz. Thanks!

99.99% of all blue topaz sold today is, in fact, white topaz that has been turned blue by being irradiated. Further colour changes are also made by heating. Blue does occur in nature (as a result of the topaz crystals being exposed to natural radiation from the parent rocks over long periods of time) but it is always very pale and rarely attractive enough for use in jewellery.
