Across the centuries, the number twelve developed spiritual prophecy. The number had become a regular occurrence ranging from the twelve tribes of ancient Israel and twelve apostles, to the twelve foundation stones of the Holy City. Over time the twelve months of the year and signs of the zodiac began to merge with this idea.
Each zodiac sign has its own personal name and its own personality. Individuals born under a particular sign are thought even today to be influenced by that sign and to share common traits with others of the same sign. Back in ancient Israel times, people began wearing a gemstone set into a piece of jewellery and changing the gem each month to correspond with each sign. Each gem is said to have a different meaning or spiritual power including the protection of war, to cure blindness and even give resistance to drunkenness.
Eventually people began to want individuality with their stones rather than wear the same as other each month so they decided to wear only the birthstone which represented their birth month all year round, therefore beginning the tradition of birth stones.
Today these birth stones are given as presents or bought because of their meaning in all sorts and shapes. For example the birth stone of April might be set into a diamond engagement ring or other designs of diamond jewellery. The stone of the diamond is said to represent innocence and is associated with the birth zodiac sign of the Taurus. To find your birth stone try searching online.
You can find many gifts and guides to your birthstone or people dear to you online and see the many different designs and prices they come in. Gold engagement rings in particular look spectacular when surrounding a special stone with the attempt to emphasise its colour, but you’ll be surprised how many different forms you can buy your stone in.
You don’t of course have to just choose the stone that represents your birthday. Some people dislike the colour or the way their stone looks in jewellery so decide to focus more on the meaning of the stones and choose one this way.

Keep in mind that the birthstone pets do not have a stuffed animal, they are on-line pets only. It will be September soon, so then you’ll be able to that one for your daughter
