Is lab created tanzanite harder than natural tanzanite?
Or are there any alternative gems OTHER than sapphire. I have my heart set on a tanzanite engagement ring. But i know they are too soft to wear every day. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a tanzanite engagement ring and I’ve worn it nearly every day for 2 years. It is just as perfect as the day I first got it – no scratches at all. Of course, I don’t plan to wear it after I’m married, but for the length of time I’m going to be engaged its not going to suffer any noticeable damage, even though it is a relatively soft stone (6.5).
Gotta tell you though, I get so many compliments and jealous glares from women who have huge cookie cutter diamonds on their rings. Ya gotta love the purple! Get whatever ring you want !
