The author writes in a humorous, common speech style that makes the science-based portions of the book easy to understand. There is quite a bit of introductory information that sets the stage for explaining how sacred geometry is the language of the universe. Although criticized in other reviews, I found this information to be relevant and well-communicated; it is an important part of understanding the language of crystal grids, and serves the reader well in this context. The information on constructing and using grids was about the same length as the introductory information, but I believe that it is because the author encourages the reader to learn basic concepts and then apply them, rather than spoon-feeding information or common grid set-ups one after another. I also thought this approach served the reader well as using crystals is always more beneficial when the approach is personalized or approached from an intuitive perspective. All in all, I very much enjoyed the book in its entirety and found it to be an invaluable resource as it is unlike anything else in the world of crystal healing publications. This review is from: Crystal Grids: How and Why They Work: A Science-Based, Yet Practical Guide (Paperback)

Although this book is brief (as was complained about in another review), it is informative and easy to read. The author writes in a humorous, common speech style that makes the science-based portions of the book easy to understand. There is quite a bit of introductory information that sets the stage for explaining how sacred geometry is the language of the universe. Although criticized in other reviews, I found this information to be relevant and well-communicated; it is an important part of understanding the language of crystal grids, and serves the reader well in this context. The information on constructing and using grids was about the same length as the introductory information, but I believe that it is because the author encourages the reader to learn basic concepts and then apply them, rather than spoon-feeding information or common grid set-ups one after another. I also thought this approach served the reader well as using crystals is always more beneficial when the approach is personalized or approached from an intuitive perspective. All in all, I very much enjoyed the book in its entirety and found it to be an invaluable resource as it is unlike anything else in the world of crystal healing publications. Coming from an avid reader on this topic, as well as a crystal healing instructor, I can honestly say that I see myself recommending this book to students for years to come.

It's like a miniature wind chime, suitable for indoors or out. My only disappointment was that the Amazon product description included a "story" of the meaning of the amber, and this description is not included on the packaging of the product itself. Since this was a gift, I wanted the meaning printed on the box label. But the chimes were a big hit anyway. And a different description--of amber as the "tears of the sun"--was included. This is my 3rd Woodstock chime purchase. Very tiny, very pretty, and beautiful tinkling (but not tinny) musical tones. It’s like a miniature wind chime, suitable for indoors or out. My only disappointment was that the Amazon product description included a “story” of the meaning of the amber, and this description is not included on the packaging of the product itself. Since this was a gift, I wanted the meaning printed on the box label. But the chimes were a big hit anyway. And a different description–of amber as the “tears of the sun”–was included. This is my 3rd Woodstock chime purchase. All in all, I’m impressed with the quality of Woodstock products and would want no other windchimes.

This is one of Judy Hall’s best books yet! I have another crystal book she wrote, but this one is by far the best in terms of photos, explanations and descriptions.

The only issue I take with it is that she should have included MORE CRYSTALS!! THe book is SO GOOD, I wish she could have included more new age crystals, like Witch’s Stone or Shaman’s Stone. But, that withstanding, all together the book is OUTSTANDING!

The stones are a good size and you get a bunch for a good price. I only wish they would have labeled which stones are which on the box. They shipped and arrived very quickly too. Each one of these stones with a necklace hook at the top would, individually, cost at least $12-$18 at a new age store. So, this is a good buy.

It has got a very basic rundown on many crystals (no pictures) giving a short description and a short list of uses for them. It has really got a lot of good info packed into a compact but very readable book. I would recommend this for someone who is interested but not sure HOW interested, or to someone who is starting out and needs some basics. For people wanting to get into it deeper at all, I totally loved Melanie's book. GREAT book! (No pictures though.) As far as a picture and scientific descriptive book (both of which I would recommend if you are going to get into it deeply), I don't have one I would recommend. I have the Judy Hall book and the Book of Stones, by Robert Simmons. I just couldn't recommend either one of them, though I thought they'd both be fantastic. At this point I think I'm going to order a Field Guide and go with that! Right now it's looking to me like you have to choose a particular aspect and just get one book that's good on that. I bought this necklace for my grandma for Christmas. She has 5 kids, plus spouses, 10 grandkids plus spouses, and 7 great-grandchildren, and between all of us, our birthdays cover all the months of the year. We put all 12 stones in, representing all of her family. I also typed up and included a list of the months with each person’s name for her. She absolutely LOVES it!! She could not have been happier and wears it all the time.

One note though, I first ordered the small, not realizing it would not hold all 12 stones. So I had to return that one and get the large. The cutomer who mentioned not being able to see the stones at the bottom of the locket probably should have ordered the small.

My husband suggested using super glue, so I tried that and it worked. Once I glued the relevant gems (top face glued to the inside of the front of the locket), they stayed in place and were all perfectly visible.
