Regardless, they pump either a ‘pure’ essential oil or some emulsion of essential oil onto a heating element, which then vaporizes the oil or mixture and releases it into the room for some intangible health ‘benefit’. How one can benefit by breathing in small droplets of oil is beyond me.

It’s supposed to be cleaner/healthier/safer than using traditional oil burners but I’d contest that as at least the inflammatory method will burn the oil base away from the stinky bits. What you’ll get with one of these technotoys is oil droplets that will precipitate out of the air and coat your camera lenses.

Rubies and sapphire are both varieties of corundum – aluminium oxide. Ruby is the red variant, which ranges in colour from deep red to pale pink
Sapphire is typically all shades of blue and green. Some corundim can be parti coloured, with sections of the stone being various shades of blue, green or red. Corundum’s hardness is 9, so it is very hard.

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz – silicon dioxide. Its hardness is 7.5 and it ranges in colour from deep to pale purple. It can also occur in the same crystal as smoky (brown) and clear varieties.

Iolite is the gem version of cordierite – Magnesium Aluminum Silicate. Its hardness is 7.5 (like quartz) and its colours range through transparent, violet-blue, light blue, blue, rich blue-violet. It can look like sapphire, but is much softer. A distinctive feature of iolite is that it changes colors depending upon which angle it is viewed from.

One thing you can do is get some legal herbals, go to google and look for vaporizing herbs. A number of sites have lists. And herbal blends are available on a few of them , like the VaporBrothers dealer, vaporwarehouse.com.
