Description
Quartz crystal with pale lavender to deep purple colors is called amethyst. The colors are caused by traces of iron in the quartz and will be lost if heated. Amethyst is used mainly for decoration. The deep purple specimens are valued as gemstones.
Great for science projects or classroom collection.
Each piece is irregularly shaped and is between 0.5 and 1 inch in size.
